Goal: Retire Joshua House Mortgage
$140,000 over 50% of Capital Goal Reached
Source Transitional Housing is taking on a bold vision to see
a network that would include 50 bedrooms, an Opportunity Farm
and support staff by 2011. The Joshua House represents 9 of
the 50 Bedrooms. Paying for the current facility (retiring mortgage
and finishing the attic) and securing $60,000 of annual program
cost is our first step in giving 100's young people opportunity
to overcome for years to come. The total Capital Goal has been
to retire the $200,000 mortgage. Through March 2007, over $60,000
in donations and the $80,000 Youthworks Grant. We still need
donations and grants to pay off the mortgage.
$80,000
grant received in March, 2007
In March, 2007, Youthworks Foundation provided $80,000 to finish
the attic. If we are able to finish below this estimate, then
all savings will go directly toward the mortgage. If we can get
over 75% of the attic labor and materials donated we will be able
to put over $60,000 towards the mortgage.

The
attic was completed and the dedication was April 5, 2008. There
are two bedrooms, a living room space and a bathroom. Right
now it is being used to house staff. Below are some pictures
of the completed attic. Thanks to everyone who volunteered or
donated. A special thanks to Youth Works who gave a grant and
many volunteers!
