Source Boiler Room (24/7 prayer)

We have been in relationship with the 24/7 Prayer organization out of England for over 2 years and have been connected with some of the leadership for over 15 years. Boiler rooms are communities associated with 24/7 prayer that hold the values of prayer and mission along with holistic values expressed through creativity, justice/mercy, hospitality, and discipleship/learning. The 24/7 and Boiler room communities have been inspired by the Moravian and the Celtic Christian Monastic History. These have influenced Source for years. We believe and it has been confirmed that this is a divine relationship of like minded prayer and mission communities that gives Source a national and international family that we have never had. It gives us a larger family to encourage and support as well as a network that allows us to give input to young adults and creative communities to learn from our experience literally around the world. This year we are looking to become part of this association of Boiler rooms. We attended a gathering in Spain of 50 Boiler room leaders from around the world, followed by a larger 24/7 gathering in October of this year.

Transit Training

This year we will be co-hosting a training with young adults that is quite dynamic. They will get to experience the diversity and strengths of three communities as we join the other 2 Boiler rooms in Madison and Kansas City. The young people will be involved in a 10 month training where they will be in Madison for the fall, Kansas City for the winter, and with us for the spring and into the summer. This is an ideal way to be part of discipling young adults to make a great impact in the future.

Permanent Urban Prayer/Meditation Room at the Fallout

Prayer has always been a priority of Source, but it seems to be something that God is asking us to champion more for our own ministry and the city in general. This has naturally gone hand in hand with developing our relationship with the Boiler room and 24/7. Part of this is establishing a permanent Urban Prayer/Meditation Room at the Fallout. We believe this to be a significant piece of the future of us making an impact in the city, young lives, and urban sub-cultures. We have been and hope to continue doing prayer vigils on some Friday nights as well as quarterly weeks of 24-7 prayer. Please pray for us in this exciting new chapter of ministry.
