Mums & Dads Come Forth
a crrent inspiration for creative music/art expressions
of intercessions for this season |
|
From time to time we feel that we are lead to lift up different
theme's or pictures and encourage people to intercede, which
includes encouraging artists and musicians to prayerfully
create expressions that can communicate aspects words at times
cannot. Throughout the summer we'll be taking the theme of
"mums & dads come forth".
Providing relationships and environments for "lambs" (those
who have recently became adopted into God's family) and the
"prodigals" (those returning to the father after a season
of bad choices and abuse) and giving them an opportunity to
grow is a core calling for the Source Community. We desire
to be a discipling community and aspire that our community
reflects a great sense of family to one another. Spiritual
mother and fathers seem to rare within the Body of Christ
and currently there is an incredible cry from the younger
generation to have values of community/family that include
nurturing/coaching relationships with those who have gone
before them. Not only is this within the Body of Christ but
the cry for family is also dominate in those who do not know
Christ.
Unfortunately, many times young adults and teens are finding
family not in the church, but in their dysfunctional culture:
within their peers, homeless youth, drug culture, ect.. we
have even seen it be a draw to the Muslim faith even though
it is very legalistic, the belonging and desire for family
become prominent. Part of our prayer is the sense of community/family
be restored to the Body of Christ. That God would raise up
spiritual fathers and mothers willing to be available and
give themselves to this generation... especially to the "lambs"
and "prodigals" and those who desired to be disciple and nurtured.
Part of this picture is children/orphans waiting to be adopted...
and fathers and mothers coming for them.. adopting them into
their family so they do not have to "fend" for themselves..
but now they have relationships with those who desire to nurture
them and love and equip them to be able to grow up and nurture
their own family some day. Our prayers, pictures, songs, and
expressions are those to agree with God's heart and calling
this out to come forth and happen.
