Homeless Youth National
Outreach- January 2005
Homeless youth from across the country gather in the Florida
woods each winter to live a 21st century vagabond lifestyle.
Armed with prayer and a sense of adventure, a team of 40 Source
staff traveled to Florida to reach out to these youth. The
team cooked several hundred meals each day and ministered
through three culturally relevant Christian bands. During
the week, the staff saw teens move from initial resistance
to praying and crying together during the final goodbyes.

Spring Break Mini-Camp-
March 2005
During Easter week, 20 came alongside our staff for a full
Urban Outreach Week. The event included distributing flyers
in coffee shops, hosting the Fallout Seder for more than 80,
and a dynamic performance called "Good Friday Disgrace."
Urban Ministry Training-
June 2005
More than 70 individuals attended this year's largest training
and outreach week. Along with Source and UMT staff, the group
included college students, ministry leaders, Christian artists
and musicians, and formerly homeless youth. This intense week
was packed full of teaching, electives and small groups, and
included outreaches hosted at the Fallout and the downtown
Minneapolis Mosaic block party. The week ended with 4 students
baptized
on the sidewalk in front of the Fallout!
Drum & Easel Week,
"In but not Of" seminar- July 2005
At the beginning of the Fallout Art Fest prep week, Source
hosted a three-day seminar examining how to be "in" the world,
but "not of" the world (John 17). Following the seminar, the
rest of the week included praying, preparing, building relationships
and getting into spiritual conversations by promoting the
Art Fest at downtown parades, coffee shops and at other events
throughout the city.
Internships, UMT staff
and Summer staff
Source offers a variety of internships and short-term staff
positions to provide leadership opportunities. Internships
focus on individual giftings, growth, experiencing team ministry
and mentoring. UMT & summer staff positions are typically
filled by young adults who have participated in past trainings
or internships, and want to continue to grow, reach out and
be part of Source. It's a joy for Source staff to build into
individuals who really desire to go for it.
